Open heART Studio – Dec 6 2025 9am-11:30am – Denver
We invite you to share in a creative space to help explore and connect about grief through art. In this session, we will approach grief with Scone Baking and mini Mala Making.
Michael will lead in a baking activity, crafting some delicious scones. We welcome you into the kitchen, without pressure or expectation, and with lots of support. While holidays stir up memories that can feel difficult, we want to give you a gift within a safe place to create, experience, and connect while giving yourself a sweet takeaway – an accomplishment for your heart and belly that you can share with others (or not!). We will provide all of the materials both for the baking activity and for arts and crafts while treats are in the oven!
Kathleen will lead in making mini malas. Mala making is a meditative, personal, and intentional process that imbues a string of prayer beads with significant meaning and energy for spiritual practice. Rather than being a mass-produced item, a handmade mala is a unique and powerful tool that reflects the maker’s spiritual intentions. Make one for yourself or as a gift for someone else who may benefit from this intentional meditative practice.
HeartLight Center will provide baking and beading supplies. You are welcome to bring any art supplies, images, relics or materials that you would like to work with. No past art or baking experience required.
Date: Saturday, December 6th from 9am-11:30am at HeartLight Center
Cost: $40
Registration is required.
