What is a Drop-In Support Group at HeartLight Center?
Anyone who has experienced a death-loss, and is at least of 18 years of age, is invited to attend an open support group at HeartLight Center. Open support groups allow participants to attend as often or as little as needed and attendance is not taken.

*NEW!* Anticipatory Grief & Self-Care – Monthly Group
Join us in a supportive space to share, process, and learn more about grief when someone you care about has received a terminal diagnosis (regardless of your role or relationship to the individual). We will focus our discussions on managing the grief now, not just preparing for the grief after the death. We will discuss the many ways grief shows up when we are anticipating a loss, how to cope with emotions, handle tough conversations, and share ideas for taking care of ourselves and others in the upcoming days (weeks, months…) ahead.
Meets monthly on the third Thursday online at 5pm (PT)/ 6pm (MT)/ 7pm (CT)/ 8pm (ET) on Zoom starting March 2026.

Post-Loss Family Caregiver Grief Support – Monthly Group
Caring for a loved one through illness, aging, or a disability can be a profound and lie-altering experience. After their passing, many caregivers are left to navigate not only grief but the complex emotions, identity shifts, and exhaustion that can follow the caregiving journey. This group offers a welcoming space for thsoe who have provided care to a family member or close friend and are now living with the grief of their loss. Together we explore the ongoing impact of caregiving, share coping strategies, and connect through shared stories and support.
Note: This group is specifically for individuals who were caregivers to a loved one who has died, rather than for current caregivers or caregiving professionals.
Meets monthly on the second Monday in-person at 4:30pm at Daniels Strong-Thorne.
