The Grief Networking Alliance of New Mexico invites professionals anywhere to join in a virtual book discussion with Certified Thanatologist and Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Korie Leigh, as she discusses her new book, It Will Never Be the Same: A Teen’s Guide to Grief and Grieving, key themes and ways to support grieving teens with compassion and practical tools. Her book is an empowering guide that provides teens with useful information, support and heartfelt advice to navigate the complexities of loss.
About the Author
With training as a child life specialist and grief counselor, Dr. Korie Leigh specializes in working with children and families experiencing grief and loss. As an associate professor and program director, she teaches graduate courses on child development, death, dying, and bereavement. Dr. Leigh obtained her Ph.D. in transpersonal psychology, where she wrote her dissertation on the lived experiences of bereaved parents. She also holds an M.A. in public health and grief counseling and a B.A. in child development. She speaks and presents at national and regional conferences on issues of grief, loss, and coping. Dr. Leigh is the author of What Does Grief Feel Like? and It Won’t Ever Be the Same. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
